For a long time, there has been a lack of a source for consistent and locally focused chess in Uganda. For a game that has been played in the country for many decades, there is a surprising lack of coverage from a chess player’s point of view.

The Uganda Chess Federation (UCF) was founded in 1972. The aim of this website is to work towards correcting that. I shall be reporting on local and regional chess news with a dose and updates regarding international chess news.

In addition to the above, I shall be casting an eye backwards in time to look at history of chess in Uganda and those who introduced the game and helped it grow. To that end, in case you have any information that can assist in that regard, it shall be most welcome.
