Shadrach Kantinti, a chess champion, devoted father, businessman and a man who put on a cap at all times, left an indelible mark on the country’s chess scene. Born in 1977, Kantinti’s remarkable career spanned over two decades, during which he represented Uganda in 10 Chess Olympiads – a feat that only a handful of players have achieved.

The starting rankings promise an exciting competition, with several strong players vying for the top spot.
